This was such a beautiful botanical garden. Admission is free. The gardens span both an indoor and outdoor area. They have so many different species of plants here. They had everything from tropical plants to succulents. The outdoor space is beautiful as well.

Luthy Botanical Garden is a hidden gem in Peoria and a wonderful place to spend an hour or two with family. While it isn't a large botanical garden, every section is beautifully designed and offers something differentโ€”from colorful flower beds and unique trees to peaceful walking paths and a tropical conservatory filled with fascinating plants. The grounds are relaxing, well laid out, and make for a great escape from the city. I especially enjoyed the castle-like entrance, the greenhouse, and the variety of gardens throughout the property. I did notice a few larger weeds growing within some of the shrubs, but I understand the gardens are maintained largely by volunteers. Considering that, it's impressive how beautiful and well cared for everything is overall. If you're visiting Peoria or looking for a peaceful place to enjoy nature, I definitely recommend stopping by Luthy Botanical Garden. It's a relaxing, photogenic, and worthwhile destination that I'm glad we visited. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒบ

Just a quick heads up for anyone considering Luthy Botanical Garden for photosโ€”there is a $50 fee per photoshoot for family sessions or small business use. Iโ€™ve been using this location for nearly 2 years for many of my sessions, and this is the first time Iโ€™ve been made aware of this policy. Iโ€™ve had multiple conversations with staff over that time and have even shared business cards, so it was very surprising to learn this during an active session. While I was on the phone with a client who was arriving for an engagement session and needed directions, I was approached by the front desk staff member (working Sunday, May 3rd at noon) and addressed about the policy. Because I was on the phone, my client overheard the interaction and later expressed that the tone and approach came across as rude and disrespectful. I was asked to make payment immediately and told I should have already known about the policy, despite never having been informed of this over the past two years of regularly shooting here. The situation felt abrupt and could have been handled much more privately and professionally, especially while I was actively communicating with a client. The manager was very kind

Overall the garden is great and free to enter although donations are welcomed. It's not too big but they have a good amount of plants and trees. Great spaces to walk around on the outdoor. The entrance has a small reading nook and some fossils on display. Also features a small greenhouse packed with plants and literary referances
